Ford Motor Company at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show today extended its line-up of vehicles to reveal new sporty, dynamic and high specification vehicles for Europe.

Ford is launching a new app that enables electric vehicle drivers to remotely connect their smartphone with the car to manage charging – and even set a chosen cabin temperature before their journey.

Within two months of launch, the all-new Ford Mondeo is “Best Family Car” according to UK Car of the Year judges.

Car seat covers used in new Ford cars have received a glamorous new lease of life after being recycled for a unique fashion collection. Emerging designers from Europe and Asia transformed the covers – and other materials and waste from Ford vehicle production – into dresses, jackets and skirts for The Redress Forum: Ford Design Challenge. Held during Hong Kong Fashion Week, the event was organised with sustainable fashion charity Redress to highlight sustainable design in fashion and automotive.

Ford has further expanded the number of powertrain combinations that are available to order for the all-new Ford Mondeo to provide the widest ever choice to customers in Europe. Production has now started of models equipped with Ford’s multi-award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost – the first 1.0-litre petrol engine in the segment, priced from £19,995. The line-up is further extended with a new 210PS bi-turbo 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine; fuel-efficient new 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine; and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive technology for optimised traction and performance.

Ford Motor Company today announced it is completing the final part of a €2.3 billion investment in its Valencia, Spain, manufacturing operations, transforming it into one of the world’s most advanced, flexible and productive auto plants.

Ford is increasing production at its assembly plants in Saarlouis and Cologne, Germany, to meet growing demand for several top-selling vehicles. From next week, Ford is increasing production of the Focus, C-MAX and Grand C-MAX at the Saarlouis plant by 240 units per day to 1,770 vehicles. The Ford Focus and C-MAX are Ford’s second and third best-selling vehicles in Europe.

Nick Themistocleous has been appointed director, fleet operations Ford of Britain, succeeding Phil Hollins, who has held the role since 2012. Phil has been appointed commercial vehicles director, Ford of Europe. Both appointments are effective February 1, 2015.

Ford of Europe – which last year recorded its highest full-year market share since 2011 on strong demand for its new models – said 2015 will be one of the busiest years for new product in the company’s history.
